The Maroon Bells near Snowmass is likely some of the most photographed peaks in Colorado, possibly in America.
When Brian painted this piece, he chose to move it from the picturesque lake everybody is so familiar with, to this view - the perfect focus for this scene. As he worked on it, he kept thinking of Edgar Allen Poe's poem about "The Bells":
Keeping in time, time time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells....
